Meet Book Publishing Roundtable Guest Speaker: Poet and Travel Writer Elizabeth Fonseca


Elizabeth Fonseca is an avid traveler who has lived in such countries as Italy, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Her poetry and prose have been published in the anthologies A Taste of Poetry and More Challenges For the Delusional: Prompts, Poetry, and Prose Celebrating 25 Years of Murphy Writing Workshops, and the Travelers' Tales series, among others. Her chapbook, This World, was published by Local Gems Press. The poems reflect aspects of the author’s experiences, observations and emotions while traveling and living in other countries and cultures. Her new manuscript of personal travel essays, Foreign Exchange: Tales of Teaching and Travel Abroad, expands on the themes of discovery of self and neighbor as one of travel’s gifts. A recipient of the 2017-2018 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, she teaches at Nassau Community College in NY.
