Haiku Workshop (1 Day)
This workshop is an introduction to writing one of the simplest yet complex poetry forms: Haiku. Participants will learn how to create/write a standard Haiku in 5/7/5. The creation of the Haiku can either be individual or communal.
Little Poems Workshop (1 Day)
This workshop is geared toward writing Little Poems. The Little Poems can be Haiku, Senryu, Tanka, or Couplets (rhymed and unrhymed). Participants will learn how to create these Little Poems in either individual or communal settings.
Sights and Sounds Poetry Workshop (1 Day)
This workshop is geared toward writing Ekphrastic Poetry using pictures and/or music. (Ekphrastic Poetry is a poetic form written from inspiration from another art form) . Participants will create an Ekphrastic poem with the Tanka poetry form. (Tanka poetry means a short story or song). Participants will learn how to create an Ekphrastic poem in either individual or communal settings.
This workshop is geared toward using your five senses (smell, touch, hearing, sight, and taste) to create descriptive imagery for poetry, fiction, and narrative writing. Participants will learn how to create sentences using as many senses as they would like in either individual or communal settings.
Chapbook Workshop (1 Day) (2 1/2 Hour Session)
This workshop will teach you how to make a handcrafted book with a collection of your poetry or short stories usually handmade.
